Okay. I was too kind in my previous video post. I've now looked at all the video of McCain talking about Hamas that I have, and I think he gives a different answer each time -- and three of the answers were on the same day! So here they all are in one clip -- enjoy. I wonder which McCain we are supposed to believe? Heh.

Israeli Writer-Activist Tikva Honig-Parnass, who fought for Israel's founding in 1948, on 60 years of Palestinian dispossession and occupation. We continue our coverage of the sixtieth anniversary of the founding of the state of Israel, what Palestinians call the Nakba, or catastrophe. We begin with Tikva Honig-Parnass, an Israeli who fought with Jewish paramilitary units and the Israeli army, participating in the military operations that expelled over 750,000 Palestinians. Today, she's an anti-Zionist leftist writer and activist who has been involved with anti-occupation, women's, and Mizrahi movements in Israel since the 1960s.

In case you’ve been living under a rock with neither internet nor cable access, you might’ve missed this recently unearthed clip of Bill O’Reilly experiencing, um, temperamental technical difficulties on the set of Inside Edition during his pre-FOX days. It’s good to see that the fame and fortune he gained from The O’Reilly Factor really hasn’t changed him that much — he’s still the same unhinged, unstable, belligerent blowhard he was when he had hair, and I’m sure tantrums like this date back to his infancy. And this guy actually thinks he’s an authority on raising kids?
O’Reilly has tried to laugh this off, but there’s plenty more fun to be had. In solidarity with his idol, Stephen Colbert released a clip of one of his own past freakouts, and Keith Olbermann invited an O’Reilly-type body language expert (actually Stacy Grenrock Woods of the Daily Show) to talk about BOR’s dictatorial body language “mostly seen by your Benito Mussolinis, your General Pinochets.” Some terrific remixes of BOR’s meltdown have started surfacing, like this hilarious one from Barely Political, and even a dance remix.
So we at FOX ATTACKS! thought we’d invite all of you to submit your own O’Reilly Tantrum remixes! As you can see from the clips above, there are a lot of directions you could take this, so go for whatever you think is the funniest and most entertaining. You can find a downloadable Quicktime version of the original clip here — the rest is up to you!
When you have finished your video, post it on YouTube and paste the URL into a comment in this blog. Once we have enough videos, we’ll put them on a page where everyone can view them and vote on them. There will be prizes for winners in multiple categories (TBD).
Can’t wait to see what you guys come up with!

Oregon is the only state in the Union that votes entirely by mail, and as NPR's Ina Jaffe reported last week, that's not only changing the way campaigns conduct their get-out-the-vote efforts, it also removes the tradition of the secret ballot entirely from Oregon's voting system. This week for Why Tuesday? Jacob Soboroff met with United States Postal Service Communications Program Specialist Larry H. Dozier to learn more about voting-by-mail. For more: http://whytuesday.org Here's NPR's Ina Jaffe report.

On the 60th anniversary of Israeli independence, the new American-Jewish lobbying group J Street is calling for peace in the Middle East through peaceful, diplomatic means. For far too long, the neocons, Christian evangelicals, and conservative Jewish leaders have defined what it means to be "pro-Israel" in our country. They have purported themselves as the only friends Israel has in the U.S.; they have dictated U.S.-Israeli policies; and they have erroneously painted Bush as Israel's staunchest friend in Washington. By perpetuating the myths about what it means to be "pro-Israel," the neocons have suggested that you can't be simultaneously pro-Israel and pro-peace. Well, the dovish J Street is here to change the definition of the term. J Street wants the U.S. government to take a stronger hand in putting diplomatic pressure on the Israeli government and other Arab nations. They believe the neocons have undercut Israel's longterm security. And they feel that Bush has basically been a cheerleader when it's come to Israel, when what he should have been was a referee, brokering peaceful Arab-Israeli negotiations and compromises.

He also designed a website with inspirational quotes about saving the earth to educate people even more. He lives in a very conservative midwest town where his friends and their parents aren't sure global warming exists, but he is determined to help them understand. He has been on television and in the newspaper and has work in 3 retail establishments and has done all this in the last 6 months. A new short film about the recent DEA drug bust at San Diego State University that resulted in almost 100 arrests, including students majoring in criminal justice and Homeland Security. The ongoing sting operation that led to the arrests was a direct response to the death of SDSU student Shirley 'Jenny' Poliakoff from an overdose last year.

Gun control certainly isn't something to joke about, neither is the assassination of a presidential nominee. And yet Mike Huckabee did both today while addressing the NRA. From CNN: During a speech before the National Rifle Association convention Friday afternoon in Louisville, Kentucky, former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee — who has endorsed presumptive GOP nominee John McCain — joked that an unexpected offstage noise was Democrat Barack Obama looking to avoid a gunman. “That was Barack Obama, he just tripped off a chair, he's getting ready to speak,” said the former Arkansas governor, to audience laughter. “Somebody aimed a gun at him and he dove for the floor.” Obama supports extending the assault weapons ban, limits on gun sales, and a national law against carrying concealed weapons, with exceptions for retired police and military personnel. John McCain – whose legislative record was awarded a C+ rating by the NRA in 2004, but has received a perfect score – will address the group later Friday afternoon.

Kristofer Goldsmith testified before the Congressional Progressive Caucus: I was stop-lossed. My one hope and dream in the military was to go to college after I went through Iraq. I attempted suicide. I never deployed a second time. Because of that I received a general discharge. I lost my college benefits, the $40,000 promised to me in the Montgomery GI Bill, I will not be eligible to receive. And currently there is a Senator in Congress currently running for president, who is fighting to kill our Webb GI bill. And I’m one of the soldiers who will never get that money.
Why won't John McCain support our vets like Goldsmith and sign Jim Webb's bi-partisan GI Bill?

Barack Obama's bid for the Democratic presidential nomination has been marred by the controversy over remarks made by his fomer pastor, Jeremiah Wright. And now that relationship is being used by the Republicans in a strategy Democrats say is racially tinged. We sent Max Blumenthal, a writer for the progressive magazine, The Nation, to the southern state of Mississippi. He asks if attack ads used in a congressional election there could be a sign of things to come.

In remarks in South Dakota just now, Barack Obama hit back hard at George Bush's and John McCain's foreign policy attacks yesterday, stating flatly that a debate with the two Republicans over foreign policy is a debate that "I will win." "George Bush and John McCain have a lot to answer for," Obama said. The fight is one that the Obama campaign is eager to have, because it accomplishes two things. First, it forces McCain to stand by Bush, making it easier to tie them together. And second, it puts Obama, sans Hillary, on the same stage as the current Republican president and his would-be successor, making the Dem primary seem a bit like a distant memory. "If George Bush and John McCain want to have a debate about protecting the United States of America, that is a debate I am happy to have any time," Obama said. "That is a debate that I will win." He proceeded to rattle off all the things Bush and McCain have to "answer for." The unnecessary Iraq War. The phantom WMDs. The strengthening of Iran. The fact that "Hamas now controls Gaza." And the fact that Osama Bin Laden is "sending out video tapes with impunity."

House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers was heard telling two other people: "We're closing in on Rove. Someone's got to kick his ass." If Rove doesn't appear before Conyers's committee soon, Conyers said, "We'll do what any self-respecting committee would do. We'd hold him in contempt. Either that or go and have him arrested."

With Hillary Clinton and Terry McAuliffe’s embarrassing endorsement of FOX’s coverage (apparently making up for FOX’s previous 14 years of horribly unfair, dishonest coverage) and the recent high-profile “get” of Barack Obama on FOX News Sunday, the feeling in the media world is that FNS host Chris Wallace (and FOX) have been legitimized and are on a roll — which is exactly what many on the left (including myself) predicted would happen if prominent Democrats appeared there. And with Wallace’s journalistic pedigree and willingness (on one lonely occasion) to call out his FOX colleagues for Dem-sliming that was even too outrageous for him, Wallace is being portrayed as FOX’s “serious,” respectable father figure — in contrast to hot-headed, homophobic Uncle O’Reilly and racist prettyboy meathead Uncle Hannity.
In a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Wallace talked about his Obama Watch and furthered several myths about FOX which, unfortunately, are increasingly being regarded as “conventional wisdom”:
THR: How effective was "Obama Watch?"
Wallace: There were two factors in his decision to come on. One was the "Obama Watch." It gave us a way to dramatize the fact that he was ducking us. Right after we started it, I called one of the people in the Obama campaign who had been putting me off for months. I said, "What did you think of it?" His response was that it was obnoxious.
But now I say it was obnoxious and effective. More important was his defeat in Pennslylvania and his lopsided defeat among white, working class voters.
First, by saying that Obama was “ducking” FOX implies that Obama has some sort of obligation or responsibility to go on FOX. He doesn’t. Obama isn’t doing interviews with Rush Limbaugh, Michael Weiner Savage, the KKK, or Neo-Nazis because they’ve all vowed to destroy Obama with all the trash they can find or invent — just like FOX. If you don’t believe that that’s FOX’s goal, just watch FOX for an hour — you’ll get the picture after 15 min.

Most people have seen Bill O's rant online... here's a brilliant behind the scenes look. New footage shows O'Reilly's now legendary tantrum in an unbiased, spin-free light. Did he go overboard? Or was his producer at fault? You be the judge. look. Wonder if CBS will try to pull this one too over copyright infringement.
